I'm Shauna, a twentysomething Scotland-dwelling Australian. In January 2001 I started out at 351 lb (almost 160 kilos). Six years on, I've lost over 170 of those pesky pounds. I always thought there'd be some big epiphany when angels would sing and clouds would part and I'd decide, this time I'll lose the weight! But it didn't happen like that. Slowly over time I began to see how I was letting my weight dictate everything I did with my life, or rather what I didn't do. Finally one summer day I decided that I had to try and turn things around.
