Hello everyone,

I am new to this particular website, and feel every emotional possible right now. I am looking for a weight loss buddy. I live in Phoenix, Arizona (Ahwatukee) and I currently have 90 pounds to go until I achieve my weight goal weight. Just a little background information on me, I started out weighing 285 pounds and today (9/11/06) I am weighing in at 235 pounds....I would love to weigh 145 pounds by August 11,2007 (my 27th birthday), but have a realistic view and know that if I continue to work hard and eat right, then I will achieve my goal without a date, it would just be nice to share my success with someone and have a "pick-me-up" when I am not doing so well. Thank you all for your time....

Anne

Hi Anne,
I'm also new here, was just surfing through success stories to keep myself motivated.
about me;
I am 5'10" and started putting on weight in high school after I stopped growing. I reached 220 by graduation (summer 1998)
I lost quite a bit while partying heavily in early 2000 and got down to 155 or so in totally the wrong way (drugs & not eating).
As I changed my lifestyle to one of responsibility and priorities (work, boyfriend, pets, household) I gained almost all of it back and am now at 195.
Last week I made the decision to lose the weight the "right way" and keep it off for my own well-being.
So I bought a book called 'Body Clutter' - which I highly recommend because it allows for perfectionists to be 'real' - and I enrolled in a program called "The Healthy Way" (http://www.thehealthyway.us/)which (I'm hoping) will keep me on track and give me tools to use for maintenance after I've lost the excess. They have a really good success rate.
My goal is to be at 160 by my 27th birthday (January 14th) and 150 by April 19th (when my boyfriend and I have a vacation planned in Maui).
Today is day 1 for me of a 5 day "Metabolic Cleanse" to begin the process,
and I've paid for 20 weeks of support from the Healthy Way.
I thought it was a great coincidence that we're both looking to our 27th birthdays as goal dates... and both of us have reasonable amounts of weight to lose for our goal dates - if we stick to it.
Feel free to email me if you want some support - or if you want to brag
it's all good either way ;)

Hi girls! I just turned 28 - after college sometime I hit 220 - and then lost some - then back to 218 - and then lost a lot - and then back to about 212 - where I've been hovering +/- 5 pounds for about 2 years. I have a 10 year high school reunion in 3 weeks - so I'm trying to get at or below 200 by then (I just got down to 210) - to jump start me to my goal of 140-ish. I was trying to get motivated by saying 80 in 8 (80 pound in 8 months) and it was a great slogan...but I haven't have much other motivation!

I'm out here to get a few buddies - did anyone read the "First" magazine that talked about that website? That's why I'm here - 6 strangers worked together to motivate each other into losing pound after pound. I really want to do this!!!

God bless!
Denise

My name is Doris and this is my first visit to this site.
After reading your messages about needing a "buddy" I could
use some strong reinforcement.
I am probably the "grandma" of the group as I am 65 yrs. old,
and have 100+ lbs to lose. I have tried everything and
do not want to go under the knife for the gastric bypass.

Operating on my stomach isn't going to help me when the problem
lies between my ears. I am not up for a frontal labotomy either.

I recently joined weight watchers and must admit I enjoy the
food choices that I get and would like to incorporate them
into a food plan for life not for getting to goal. Goal for me
eating healthy and moderately one day at a time. I am really
eliminating the fats in my foods. Hope some of you can get
me motivated again. I have lost 1000 lbs over the years only
to gain it back and then some. it is so frustrating. Dieting
has been as much apart of my life as breathing. Every waking
moment I am praying I make it "just today" without breaking
my abstinance. Good luck to all of you, I need it too.

Hi, I am 24 and I have a total goal of loseing 120 pounds :sigh: I would really like to have some support for this and I will also help you'll in anyway I can. I was reading your post and you'll have inspired me to really get with the Program. I hope I don't fall off again. I have set a goal for myself to try to lose 60 pounds in the next year. That way it does not look so unreachable.:waiting:
